About Us

Joey Chen, 30, is the Founder and CEO of Voices of Champions, an organization that provides a platform for individuals to use their voices to educate and bring awareness to mental health. Joey has struggled with mental health himself. As a survivor of suicide attempt, Joey has strive to empower others and bring awareness to such an important topic.


Joey was the President of Active Minds Chapter at Robert Morris University in Moon Township, Pennsylvania. In March 2019, Joey received the Adam Carlson Student Leader of the Year Award from Active Minds. This award is given to students who made significant contributions, facilitated change on campus around mental health, built coalitions, involved others in advocacy efforts, and are dedicated to changing the conversation about mental health. 


So here we are today, Joey has launched Voices of Champions to give us individuals a platform to educate and bring awareness to mental health and build a community of support.
